VoltH2 Terneuzen Receives SDE++ Grant

Just a few weeks after being awarded an SDE++ grant for the production of green hydrogen at Vlissingen, it is now our Terneuzen facility’s turn.

In Terneuzen, VoltH2 is developing a hydrogen plant with a capacity of 25 MW. This plant will produce 2,000 metric tons of green hydrogen annually through electrolysis. Compared to gray hydrogen, produced using natural gas, this will prevent the emission of 18 million kilograms of CO2.

Not only is this site ideally located near major industrial companies within North Sea Port that already consume large amounts of gray hydrogen, but the project is also a joint venture with Virya Energy, which offers opportunities to also market our green hydrogen in the Belgian market.

Both projects in Zeeland have now secured the SDE++ subsidy and have each already reserved the necessary connections to the power grid. From now on, all our attention will be focused on finalizing the technical design and the agreements for hydrogen supply, in preparation for the final investment decision.
