Capacity at startup

25 MW

Scalable to

50 MW

In operation in

2029

Our VoltH2 Vlissingen project will be located in the port area of Vlissingen (Zeeland). We envision a green hydrogen plant with a production capacity of 25 MW at start-up that we can eventually expand to 50 MW.

In December 2021, the province of Zeeland granted us the necessary permits. In February 2023, we were the very first producer to receive a substantial SDE++ subsidy from the Dutch government. This was followed barely a year later by a subsidy from the Fund for a Just TransitionJTF).

The plant in Vlissingen will produce green hydrogen from wind and solar energy using electrolysis. Thanks to its strategic location on a three-hectare industrial estate that is easily accessible by road, rail, the North Sea and inland waterways, we can easily distribute the hydrogen to potential customers. Industrial companies in the port can replace their gray hydrogen with our green hydrogen to decarbonize their operations.

At start-up, the plant will produce about 2,000 tons of green hydrogen per year. But the design of the hydrogen plant allows for future expansion up to 50 MW (4,000 tons).
