Wilhelmshaven is Germany's only deepwater port and is becoming Germany's energy hub. Therefore, this location was essential. In early 2023, we concluded an agreement with NPorts (Niedersachsen Ports) for the use of a four-hectare site.

Germany assigns green hydrogen an important role in achieving the 2050 climate goals. In doing so, it aims to combine local production and imports, a dual role that Wilhelmshaven can fulfill.

In addition to the planned terminals for importing green ammonia and green hydrogen, Wilhelmshaven offers ideal framework conditions for the implantation of large electrolysers. Nearby there are underground gas storage facilities with a planned connection to the long-distance hydrogen network. And at sea, there are plenty of offshore wind farms that can provide us with renewable energy.

According to current planning, we will start construction of the plant in 2026. At start-up, we are aiming for a production capacity of up to 100 MW.
